Veterinarian, Owner of Oak View Animal Hospital, CEO of Southern Veterinary Partners
Dr. Price came to Oak View in 2006 shortly after graduating from veterinary school. After three years as associate veterinarian, Dr. Price acquired the hospital from its original owner.
Dr. Price says he first found his love of animal care while spending summers on his grandparents’ farm helping to tend and care for its many animals. "One of the great joys of being a veterinarian," he says, "is the ability to spend my work day with the various animals that are our patients and maintaining the well-being of creatures that cannot speak for themselves."
A native of Phenix City, Alabama, Dr. Price attended Auburn University for his undergraduate studies, earning a BS in Zoology in 2001. The following year, he entered Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. His areas of particular professional interest include oncology, internal medicine, surgery and dermatology. He is also a member of the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association and a board member of the Hope 4 Paws Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping pet owners afford treatment of life threatening illnesses for their pets. Additionally, Dr. Price is the veterinary advisor for the Adopt-A-Golden Foundation in Birmingham, AL as well as the Alabama Boston Terrier/French Bulldog Rescue. Dr. Price received the 2016 Young Alumni Achiever Award from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.
At home, Dr. Price and his wife Julie, the Sustainability Coordinator at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, have two sons. They also share their home with a Yellow Lab named Sage, a mix breed named Woodford, and domestic shorthair cat named Miss Kitty.
When not working, Dr. Price enjoys fly fishing, yard work, traveling, and is an avid Auburn University football fan.
